What is the difference between hash and kief

Cannabis concentrates are growing in popularity. There are numerous types of this product on the market — including shatter, budder, and crumble. Often, making concentrates involves the use of a solvent, such as CO2 or butane, to extract cannabinoids from the plant. But there are also solventless concentrates like kief and hash.

These are the little hairs you see on cannabis buds. The latter is responsible for flavor and aroma. Hash is kief that has been heated and pressurized into a wax or extracted into a liquid.

Generally, hash is easier to use than kief. You can make kief from the comfort of your own home. Kief can also be collected using a sifter. Hash: The process of making hash is slightly more labor-intensive.

Kief: Kief can be used in a variety of ways. It is possible to smoke it on its own, but its powdery texture often leads to incredibly strong hits and coughing fits. Topping off a bowl or a joint is a great way to make your weed much more potent. This product can be used to make stronger edibles than those made with just flower. The heat of the coffee will activate the cannabinoids in the kief, leaving you with an ultra-relaxing cup of joe. A good way to use your kief is to make moon rocks.

Kief, on the other hand, is much more versatile. If you want to get a little extra high, take some sort of very small tool and sprinkle some kief over the bud before your roll your joint up.

Your high should be much more intense, but the actual characteristics of that highly depend on the strain. For a tool, we recommend using something like the edge of a credit card or something metal. Yes — you can sprinkle some kief into your coffee in the morning to get you going. The heat of the hot coffee no cold brew here activates the chemicals in the kief.

If your compartment is overflowing, you can store your kief in a cool dark place, in a different container. The purer the form of cannabis extracts you consume, the more intense the high is going to be. For example, pure kief will get you higher than something that still has a lot of plant material mixed in. If you like an intense high, start by collecting your kief and move up from there, as you get used to different levels of intensity.
